The Youth Social Activism Club (YSAC) at SVHS, led by Abhayjot Ghumman, is dedicated to making a positive change in our community. The club’s core mission is to foster service, awareness, and justice through various initiatives. Whether it’s raising funds for charitable causes, promoting social issue awareness, or providing community service, YSAC is a space where students come together to make a difference. The club also encourages students to voice their ideas on how to improve SVHS and create a welcoming environment for everyone.
YSAC participates in several meaningful activities each year. Some of the exciting events planned for this year include: Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon Tying, Dinner for the Homeless, Christmas Cards for the Elderly, Valentine’s Day Cards for Healthcare Workers, raising funds and supplies for charities, and collaborative group meetings with other clubs. These activities help build connections within the community while supporting important causes.
If you’re passionate about activism topics like diversity, equity, environmental changes, and community service, YSAC is the perfect place for you! Joining gives students valuable insights on these issues and contributes to making SVHS a safer, more inclusive environment.
YSAC typically meets every other Friday at lunch in room K-18. To get involved, you can follow their Instagram @svhs_ysac or join their Remind @svhs-ysac. Come be a part of the change!
