HARTFORD, NY — New York State Police arrested a Hartford woman after a man found unresponsive at a Washington County home died from severe injuries. Investigators said they were called to the residence on Rowe Hill Road just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
When troopers arrived, they found James Clark, 43, with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died. Police said the investigation led to charges against his wife, Christine Clark, 43.

Troopers were dispatched to the Hartford home after receiving a report of an unresponsive man. The call came in late Wednesday morning, and the case quickly shifted from a medical emergency to a criminal investigation.
Authorities have not said exactly what officers saw when they entered the home, but they did say James Clark had suffered injuries described as severe and life-threatening. The home sits on Rowe Hill Road in Hartford, in Washington County, in northern New York.

Charges filed against Christine Clark
State police later charged Christine Clark with second-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and criminal possession of a weapon. She is 43, the same age as her husband.
Police have not described the evidence that led to the charges, and they have not said what role, if any, the alleged weapon played in the death. The case remains in the hands of New York State Police investigators.
Christine Clark is being held without bail. No court appearance details were included in the information released by police.
James Clark died after being taken to the hospital
