CIRCLE PINES, MN — Authorities are searching for a Minneapolis man they say shot another man outside a north metro gun shop last weekend, leaving the victim hospitalized and prompting a nationwide warrant. D’Marco Ricardo Shane Buckney Jr., 20, is wanted on one count each of second-degree assault and second-degree attempted murder, according to a criminal complaint filed in Anoka County on Tuesday.
Police say the shooting happened in the parking lot of Bill’s Gun Shop and Range around 6:15 p.m. Saturday. Officers found a man with gunshot wounds who was conscious when they reached him, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators say surveillance video linked Buckney to the shooting
Detectives say surveillance footage helped identify Buckney as the suspect. According to the charges, the video shows him renting a shooting lane at the gun shop under his own name and matching a customer account number tied to that visit.
